What do you do when people have different needs and desires from one small outdoor space? One partner wanted an area focused on cooking and eating, the other wanted a space to lounge and chat.
Inspired by an antique partner’s desk (where partners sat on opposite sides of the same desk, facing each other), Daniel used geometry to define two distinct spaces – a 14-foot circular lounge which adjoined a 14-foot square dining area.
The partners’ individual desires came together in one amazing project within a very small footprint. Each partner was in charge of their piece of the garden but if someone wanted to cross over from the square to the circle and have their dessert in the lounge area, that was OK too.
